Aishwarya Rai Bachchan: Addressing Misconceptions About Beauty and Narcissism
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is often hailed as the 'most beautiful woman in the world'. Since being crowned Miss World in 1994, she has captivated hearts with her beauty and grace. Beyond her physical appearance, Aishwarya has consistently emphasized the importance of inner beauty.
In a resurfaced clip from a past interview, Aishwarya faced a direct question about whether she was entirely satisfied with her looks, given the common perception that women are often critical of their appearance.
Aishwarya responded, "It's such a trick question because if you say yes, you're presumptuous, you're a narcissist, and I'm not a narcissist." She further stated, "No, I'm really okay with the way I look. All this is transient. It changes with time and that's about it. That's the external."
Her thoughtful response resonated with many online, who praised her depth and perspective. Previously, Abhishek Bachchan defended Aishwarya against those who reduced her to merely a pretty face during an interview with BBC Asian Network.
Abhishek stated, "Now I’m not speaking as a husband but as a co-star and actor. She’s done some of the most daring roles, something you’d never expect from someone known for her beauty." He highlighted her performances in films such as 'Provoked,' 'Chokher Bali,' 'Raincoat,' and 'Guru,' emphasizing that these roles were complex, character-driven, and independent of her physical appearance.
Aishwarya's recent work includes her appearance in Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan 2'. She also garnered significant attention at Cannes 2025.
