Priyanka Chopra Reveals Daughter Malti Marie's Surprising Taste in Music and a Hilarious John Cena Mishap
Priyanka Chopra is gearing up for the release of her new film, 'Heads Of State', alongside John Cena and Idris Elba. The actress recently appeared on Jimmy Fallon's 'The Tonight Show', where she discussed her film and her family life.
She shared that her daughter, Malti Marie, is now attending school and has a busier schedule than her own. Chopra also mentioned filming a movie in India while her family stayed in New York due to Nick Jonas' Broadway commitments.
Speaking about Malti, Priyanka described her as "the light of our lives" and a "little comedian" with a penchant for good music. Recounting a recent trip to Disney World, she revealed that Malti loves the movie Moana. “She wears her Moana dress all day long,” Chopra said, adding that Moana 2 is currently her daughter’s favorite movie.
However, Malti's taste extends beyond Disney. "She listens to ‘APT’—that’s her jam," Priyanka shared, even singing a few lines of the song with Jimmy Fallon. "It’s her morning anthem. Every single day.”
When Jimmy Fallon inquired if Malti listens to her father's music, Priyanka laughed, "I don’t think she recognizes them yet. But she does call them the Doughnut Brothers,” a comment that amused everyone.
Fallon joked, “You need to trademark that right now. I’d totally buy that merch. Doughnut Brothers dolls? Move over, Labubu.”
Switching gears, Priyanka recounted an amusing incident involving John Cena during the filming of 'Heads Of State'. She said, "They’re both the most incredible guys. I was very nervous. John is like the opposite of what I expected. I’d never met him before."
To break the ice, she made a joke referencing Cena's famous "You can’t see me" meme. "The first scene we were doing together, I just went for it—I did the pose in front of him like ‘I don’t see you.’"
Idris Elba quickly intervened, signaling her to stop. "I was like, now I’ve offended him," Priyanka said.
Elba later explained that Cena doesn't appreciate it when people perform the pose in front of him.
