Kajol is returning to the big screen in Ajay Devgn's production, Maa, a mythological drama set to release on June 27th, 2025. This comes after her OTT debut in 'The Trial.' During Maa's promotion, Kajol shared her aversion to horror films, contrasting with her family's love for the genre, and humorously revealed how she watches them without sound.

Kajol is poised to make her cinematic comeback in Maa, a mythological drama produced by Ajay Devgn. The film is scheduled for release on June 27th, 2025.

Interestingly, this film arrives two years after Kajol ventured into the OTT space with The Trial: Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha. During the promotion of The Trial, when asked which real-life person she would like to put on trial, Kajol playfully mentioned her husband. "I’d put Ajay Devgn on trial and I don't even need to give any reason for it. Being a husband is more than a reason to put him on trial — and knowing him, he will even accept the charges," the actress joked. This statement quickly gained traction, with fans appreciating the couple's lighthearted banter.

Now, the duo is set to reunite professionally. Maa is described as one of Kajol's most emotionally resonant performances in recent years. It portrays a mother navigating loss, resilience, and sacrifice. Insiders have highlighted the film's portrayal of Kajol in a role of significant emotional depth.

During the promotions for Maa, she admitted to not being a fan of horror films. “There are so many things in life that scare you naturally. You don't have to watch a movie, basically,” she stated. Despite her personal reservations about the genre, the actress is surrounded by family members who are avid horror enthusiasts. “My husband, my son, my nephews — everybody around me loves, loves, loves horror. They watch at least one film every week. Come hell or high water.”

Kajol admits to watching a few horror classics, but with a unique approach. “I watch these films without sound. Without sound, I’m not that scared,” she revealed. This is a trick that many cautious viewers can relate to, muting the jump scares while still experiencing the eerie visuals.
